In the early 1980s he began to become passionate about computer science and microcomputers and cultivated this very strong interest for many years, up to the present day. His passion, combined with the full convergence and maturity of the digital age, was the main key that determined his approach to the study of photography and its incredible forms of expression. The love for nature, had since he was a child, has certainly oriented his photographic approach to the natural landscape, conveying the choices towards a world always loved but never explored with “different eyes”.
His shots have received multiple awards in national and international competitions (European Wildlife Photographer of the Year, Memorial Maria Luisa, MontPhoto …). Many of his interviews have been released in prestigious magazines in the sector such as Progresso Fotografico and Asferico. When approaching landscape photography, our mind projects an image of the place we would like to take, our imagination paints that place according to our ideal expectations, as if dictating a precise idea of what we are going to look for in the field. This happens when you have full awareness of the “feeling” that finds concrete application in the choice of place and time of year in which to photograph. The incidence of light, of tides (if we approach a seascape), and the weather forecasts of the area are all elements that are part of my “research” of the moment, of the particular condition, of the unique experience to be immortalized. In short, the planning of a trip is decisive and can make a difference on the final result. But in landscape photography there is no exact science of things, when you are dealing with the unpredictability of nature everything can change, and precisely this aspect often pushes me to try even when things do not seem to go in the direction of “planned in advance”.
In landscape photography, I find an inexhaustible source of inspiration that pushes me to carefully research all the elements that can describe its strength and character in the best way. Light is certainly the distinctive and decisive element in my photography and it is in its continuous search that I destiny all my energies and passion. Capture light, describe with it the elements of nature, trace its contours by fixing unrepeatable moments. Transmit the moods of the moment by interpreting through the camera situations and emotions of a purely intimate vision. This is really what fuels my passion for photography and I believe that this is the fundamental element that can really convey the idea of a “my” landscape.
